The Boss DSD-2 Digital Sampler/Delay is an effects pedal used by Prince from the Parade tour to the Diamonds & Pearls tour. It is similar to the DD-3 and it’s possible that Prince used both concurrently. It can be seen on one of Prince’s Sign O The Times era pedalboards and was listed in a 1990 Musician article about the Nude tour. Susan Rogers has also mentioned Prince using a "blue delay" pedal in the studio - probably a DSD-2.
Prince retired the pedal in favour of the DD-3 in the early 1990s.
