Boss DM-2 Delay
An analog delay (echo) pedal used by Prince in the early 1980s. It appeared on Prince’s first pedalboard.
It can be heard on guitar and drum tracks from the 1999 and Purple Rain era – for example, the solo to Purple Rain. The repeats from the delay pedal on this solo are distorted, suggesting that the pedal was run into a distorted amp. It can also be heard on the drum parts of When Doves Cry and Around The World In A Day.
It was replaced by the newer Boss DSD-2 Digital Delay/Sampler for the Sign O The Times tour.
It was also used by Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman (as a keyboard effect) on the Purple Rain tour[1] .
